The World’s Most Valuable Social Network – Helping Children

Social networks are often thought of as a massive waste of time and tools that provide little or no value to society. A new campaign from Canada called “The World’s Most Valuable Social Network” is aiming to change that perception though as it helps find missing children.

With over 50,000 kids going missing in Canada every single year, it is a huge problem and this campaign taps into the immense reach of Twitter and Facebook to help solve the problem. Users can “donate” their social networks to the cause by hooking them up on the campaign website.

Once they’ve done that, the app will push out a notification to your wall or news feed automatically as soon as a child is reported missing in your area. It is all done using geolocation and the idea is that everybody in your area will start looking for the missing children, minimizing the chances of them vanishing for good.

We cover so many campaigns here on a daily basis from the world’s biggest brands, but it’s really great to cover one that is doing a bit of good for the kids in the world.
