Vimeo creates trillion pixel projection mapped stage

Projection mapping is coming into its own at the moment as the marketing tactic du jour. This is essentially projecting video onto physical surroundings, which brings the landscape into account. It allows for a more immersive video experience, way beyond what you’re used to with a flat screen. But this has to be one of the most impressive projection-mapping campaigns to date. It was built by Vimeo and the creative company Seeper, along with Beardyman and uses a nine metre wide and twelve metre 3D sculpture at Vimeo’s awards, onto which the video was projected.

As if projection mapping with a trillion pixels wasn’t impressive enough, this also took projection mapping to another level by reacting in real-time to what was going on the stage, such as responding to presenters’ movements.
