Clever Holiday Print Ads Shows Limits Of Google Images & Flickr

Maybe it’s the fact that it’s the summer, maybe it’s because the sun is shining brightly outside, or maybe it’s because we have one eye on holidays. Either way, this clever holiday print ad for Spanish travel site Hi Viajes will put a smile on your face.

Depicting a person on holidays, a cutout of a Google image search page and a Flicker image search are held up showing parts of a potential holiday destination. The image search page has holes in it where the images would be located, showing you part of the view, but not enough to convey just how amazing a location is.

The idea is that while you can look always look at images of far away destinations online and imagine yourself being there, nothing compares to the feeling of arriving at said spot and experiencing everything it has to offer. It’s smart because we’re all guilty of looking up different locations on Google or Flickr and it perfectly conveys the limitations behind this approach.

This print ad was created by Publicis, an ad agency based in Madrid, Spain.
