Introducing The Huggable Mobile Phone

Some people argue that with online or virtual communication, you miss out on the subtleties of human contact and body language. Well, that could soon be a thing of the past as professor and robot designer Hiroshi Ishiguro has invented a mobile accessory that responds when you’re talking on your phone. Termed ‘the Hugvie’, it works by placing the mobile inside the head of the hugvie, where it will then respond to your heartrate as long as you hug it during the call:

Hugvie will monitor your heartrate to respond with a hug during your call. It also comes equipped with a vibrating device to produce a heartbeat for extra comfort during your call. It’s currently available to buy for $50 here.
