Google Explains How Search & Pagerank Works [Video]

If you were ever curious about how Google determines pagerank and how it crawls through the web to obtain the most relevant results, you’re in luck. The head of Google’s webspam team Matt Curtis answers a question from RobertvH from Munich which reads:

“Hi Matt, could you please explain how Google’s ranking and website evaluation process works starting with the crawling and analysis of a site, crawling timelines, frequencies, priorities, indexing and filtering processes within the databases etc.”

The answer is a seven minute video (found below) detailing how Google determines what pages are the most relevant and how PageRank is used to determine this. It’s worth a watch as it’s explained in simple terms and if you want to gain a better understanding as to why certain content is ranked higher than others.
